Sure, it’s easy to dismiss any idea of change because it seems to be a radical thing to do. And that’s why I think habits are so important. They can be hard to change, but it’s possible to change habits.
I think you are right, and there are two steps to changing a bad habit. First is to stop doing it and then you might have a chance at undoing it. The second is to start doing it again. That is, you might have a chance at undoing it, but you can never undo it completely. What I do is I change the habit of brushing my teeth, then I go outside and I brush my teeth.
The best way to get rid of a bad habit is to change the way you think about it. If you are the type who has been constantly brushing your teeth, then you don’t need to do it more. But if you have never really thought about your habit, then you probably need to.
I really like the idea that brushing your teeth can be turned into a habit. I guess I like the idea that it can be turned into a habit because it’s pretty great that you can change it into a habit.
The main reason I like the idea of changing a habit is because I like the idea of letting everyone else change it.
